We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Personal Care Worker to join our team at our Christie Downs site. In this role, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents, supporting their individual needs, preferences, and wellbeing.

A key part of this position will be working collaboratively in a dynamic ‘house’ team environment (led by our clinical and non-clinical leaders), where courtesy and kindness, underpin everything that we do. 
  
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide high-quality personal care and support to residents in accordance with their individual care plans.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, mobility, and mealtime support.
• Encourage and facilitate resident participation in social and recreational activities.
• Communicate effectively and empathetically with residents, families, and staff demonstrating sensitivity to cultural differences and preferences.
• Observe and report any changes in residents’ health, wellbeing, or behaviour to clinical staff.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of care is provided at all times.
• Uphold residents’ rights to privacy, dignity, and choice.
• Support residents in maintaining their cultural traditions, language, and links to community, with a particular focus on Greek culture for many of our residents

  
ABOUT YOU
You will have:

• Previous experience working in an aged care or personal care setting (minimum 3-4 years experience required to be shortlisted for this role).
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and residents from diverse cultural backgrounds
• A genuine passion for supporting older people to live well and maintain their independence.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Formal qualifications in Aged Care, Disability, or Community Services (Certificate III or IV in Individual Support or equivalent preferred).
• National Police Clearance (or willingness to undertake).
• NDIS Clearance (or willingness to undertake – specific to our St Peters site)
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays as needed.

Join our Aegean Village home in Christie Downs, as a Clinical Care Coordinator (Clinical Nurse Level 2), where your clinical leadership will make a real difference to residents, families and staff every day. 

Working within our Dyad Leadership Structure, you will partner with a non-clinical Living Well House Manager (LWHM) to lead a house of up to 30 residents within our 97-bed home. The Role 

As a Clinical Care Coordinator with St Basil’s, you will build strong relationships with residents, families and staff while supporting quality clinical outcomes, consistent care practices and a positive team culture. You will provide supervision and direction to the clinical team in your nominated house, ensuring individualised care and clinical services are delivered in line with our Model of Care and ACQSC requirements. 
 
This role will suit a confident and experienced clinical nurse who brings strong clinical judgement, critical thinking, leadership, teamwork and people management skills, along with a genuine commitment to person-centred care. 
 
What you’ll be responsible for 

- Build strong relationships with residents, families and staff – being the key contact for clinical queries and escalations 
- Partner with the Living Well House Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of your House 
- Lead, coach, and support clinical staff within your House, with a focus on mentoring, professional development and day-to-day performance 
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including allied health and support services 
- Oversee the delivery of safe, high-quality clinical care aligned with our Model of Care 
- Manage admissions within your House, ensuring a smooth and person-centered transition for residents 
- Conduct assessments, develop, implement and review care plans 
- Monitor clinical outcomes by identifying trends and implementing improvements to enhance care quality 
- Use clinical systems and data to identify risks, support documentation quality and drive continuous improvement 
- Maintain and role model best practice in infection control, manual handling, and delivery of care 
 
What you will need to succeed 

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar clinical leadership role 
- Bachelor of Nursing with full AHPRA registration, with no restrictions 
- Strong communication skills and demonstrated clinical leadership capability 
- A collaborative and person-centred approach 
- A strong understanding of ACQSC strengthened standards, National Quality Indicators (NQI) and clinical governance, including documentation and reporting requirements 
- A current National Police Certificate, or willingness to apply 
 
Desirable, but not essential 

- Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) qualification, or willingness to obtain with St Basil’s support 
- Clinical leadership experience in aged care

St Basil's Homes (SA) is an independent state-based organisation that provides residential aged care facilities and services to South Australians under the broader umbrella that is the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia.  We operate three residential aged care homes: Croydon Park, St Peters and Aegean Village at Christie Downs, all incorporated under St Basil's Homes (SA) and independently managed with a Governing Board and executive management team.

·       Attending bi-monthly Board meetings and participating in a dedicated Board subcommittee

What you will bring:

We are particularly interested in hearing from people with board, executive, professional or senior advisory experience in one or more of the following areas:

·       Finance, accounting, audit, investment or financial sustainability

·       Legal, regulatory, compliance, governance or risk

·       Building, construction, property development, infrastructure or capital works

Previous aged care experience is not essential, however an understanding of contemporary governance, ethical decision-making, consumer-centred services and the responsibilities of directors in a regulated environment will be highly regarded.
